Trey, Ty, and Dad all finished their hunts last night, Trey and Ty split the donated hunt and shot one bird each, and dad bought a hunt for himself. Trey was the winner of the hunt so I presented him with the knife donated by rainshadow1 and the wingbone call donated by TheStovePipeKid. Dad said they already had shotguns, so we used the cash donated by jrebel, pinetar, cem3434, and Karl Blanchard to purchase a TSS choke tube and 2 boxes of TSS cartridges for Trey's 20 gauge , 2 boxes of Longbeard cartridges for Ty's 12 gauge, and camo clothing for both of the boys. Even though we had to deal with social distancing the hunt turned out good and they are headed home this morning.

I want to give a special thanks to the members who donated all the extras for this youth hunt, thanks guys!
@rainshadow1  @TheStovePipeKid  @jrebel  @Pinetar  @cem3434  @Karl Blanchard

(I only posted a few photos so the boys and dad can post their own photos with their story!)
@ICEMAN the hunt is in the memory of your many contributions to the forum!

Since COVID killed the youth hunt, I decided to buy a hunt too and hunt with the kids now that the season was opened up.  We had a fantastic time, infact, the kids summed it up best, "that was just so fun".  We had an awesome hunt at Bear Paw Outfitters.

On our first morning hunt, we were able to get two birds, Ty (Hunt winner and just turned 16) smashed a 9 3/4" long beard from just 11 yards, the 2nd had hung up just out of reach of Trey (11) so Dad had to shoot.

It rained pretty hard most of the rest of the morning so we went back and had lunch and got a nap (3:30 am had come early) and hoped to wait out the rain.  However, the rain wasn't to be stopped so we were back in the blind by 3pm.  At about 7pm, after enduring 4 hours of rain, we had two more nice Tom's come in and were able to harvest them both.

It was an awesome day and we rebooked for next year. We can't say enough things about Dale and the staff, we are bummed we didn't get to spend more time getting to know everyone, but social distancing is still required.

Here are some pics of our 4 Tom Day.

Lastly, we will be coming up with some type of donation for the annual youth hunt winner moving forward.
