22-250 load

Anyone got a good load for prairie dogs?  Or a good site to research?  Haven’t reloaded in awhile and noticed that ReloadersNest is no longer a site.  Thanks

I run a 55gr Nosler ballistic tip pushed by 39 gr H380.  I haven't chronographed it, but it shoots 1/2 moa out of my cheap Stevens so I'm not too concerned about the velocity.

When you find a load pick one that uses a ball powder or a fine grain stick powder.  You probably won't want to weigh your loads and just meter them as you should be loading a bunch of rounds.   I used a surplus Thunderbird powder that isn't available any longer.

Yep that load works great for me, and it should prolong the barrel life.

34 grains of varget is what mine likes with whatever 55 grain bullet you feed it. Benchmark also shoots well.

I have heard this before and have seen the load quoted many times. H380 meters well because the power is round and it also shoots well.

However I am partial to varget and I would say you would want to check that powder out too. I forget my charge, but it's pretty much book max and I shoot a flat base 52 gr speer. The B.C. is bad but it hits hard!

Another fan of 38gr of H380 here. For me it sits behind a 55gr V-MAX and is lit by a CCI LRM primer.

Midway usa always has it, I also see it every time I'm in my local Sportsmans warehouse.  I have enough to last me my lifetime.
