Wonderful bull...is that this years?  If so, it looks like a possible entry into this months contest with field photos.  Good one!

Nice!  Unfortunately I don't have any WA. bulls to show you.....so far.

Field photo contest?  What's that all about?

story pretty much goes like this, I took this bull year before last. I spotted him in a hole of timber one evening, went back for two days and never could catch up to him. I decided to bring a buddy with me and we hunted for a few hours, stopped for lunch. I fired up my coffee pot and made some mountain house lunch. we no sooner stood up and took 2 steps when he busted at 50 yards or so. I pack my christensen arms 300RUM in my hand almost always and this time paid off. He took a 180gr tsx right square in the doughnut. I honestly destroyed no meat of any kind, the bullet knocked one of the hips out of socket and came to rest in the skin of his chest, just like the barnes ads.........perfect. He piled up at the shot....done. that part was interesting, but what happened next was over the top.

I have a quad it wears a winch, I fully expected to pull the elk out of the draw he was in via winch and get him to a road/trail. My pard who just got a new quad figured he would just bring the quad down to the elk......I suggested not.....repeatedly. Well against my wishes he bailed off into the brushy draw, two broken axle shafts and a tow from my winch and his rig was out. some more winching and my bull was out too. could have been home by 5pm that day, but instead it was more like 11pm and beat to boot.

all in all it was a good hunt cause nobody blew it for me that week. I was hoping for a wall hanger and nearly scored one, but to take one on public land in eastern wa gave him added mass to me.

thanks.

guess how this year is going..............
