Costco has the LEM chamber sealer pro for 599 online just ordered mine will be here in 5-7 days. I Was told they wouldn’t be available in Bellingham until April

Tempting, thanks.  I am actually still using my original FoodSaver I bought in 1998.  I sent it back twice to get the pump rebuilt and I try to break it but it still keeps working awesome.

not a big fan of LEM,  I'm sure its a vacmaster with a few cheap parts tossed in and rebranded LEM


I'll just spend a tad more and get the real deal with commercial parts inside

Question - are you limited to the size of the chamber for these things?  So if I want to seal up a nice big salmon fillet, is that going to be possible in a chamber?

Interesting that the picture on the Costco site isn't "crystal clear" as I would expect, concern...??  Here are the main specs listed, based on the "largest" bag size I don't think you will be doing very long fish slabs, but probably good for portion size sealing.  I don't own one, but have researched as a chamber sealer is about the last thing I don't have in my home butcher/processing shop.  I haven't looked at the LEM brand in the past but will prior to making a purchase decision.  I've been looking at the VacMasters series of sealers.   Comment above may be on point as a "knock off" of the Vac Masters with some other parts...  Just a guess.

you're limited to the size of the chamber.
when i seal salmon, i cut my fillets in half or usually into smaller strips, and seal 2 at a time.  makes pulling them out to defrost for a dinner for 2 people easier, or to give away as gifts.
anyway i picked one of these up last year and love it.  cranks through stuff without over heating, and the price of bags is WAY cheaper than your rolls of bags for normal sealers. 
one of my favorite uses for this is sealing up 1 lb bags of grind/loose sausage that i make.
fill bag with one lb, seal it, then flatten the bag out.  they stack very nicely in the freezer, and being flat and thinner they defrost a lot quicker.

I didn't think of that - sounds sweet.

Do you have any issues with freezer burn with the thinner plastic?

bags aren't "thinner" they just don't have the grid network for air passage as you're sealing it.  =  cheaper    can just make them flat.

as for bag thickness, that depends on what mil you buy. 


I'm interested in using mylar 7 mil bags, they work good?

the nice thing with chamber bags, as said just above, is you can order different thicknesses.
depending on size/thickness and where you order from..you can get 1000 bags for around 40 bucks.
just know if you get one...have a dedicated space for it, its big and heavy.

At least there honest about what parts will ware with time which are supplied with proper tools to replace when needed.

We just got done sealing a bunch of pork chops and Marinating steaks. This thing is so much nice than my old food saver.
