Know any landowners with too many turkeys?
« on: March 05, 2020, 05:43:58 PM »
Howdy!

I'm a newer hunter looking to cut my teeth on a gobbler this spring. Hoping to get out there earlier in the season as I'm gettin' hitched in May... Although I'm still trying to talk her into a turkey hunting honeymoon, haha!

I'm out of Olympia, and was thinking Klickitat or Skamania might be my closest best bet? Do you know any landowners with too many turkeys that are driving them crazy? I'd love to have the opportunity to hunt turkey on private land for my first time. I've been eyeing wildlife areas like soda springs but from what I've gleaned on some threads on here it sounds like that gets pretty busy?

If anyone would like to take a noobie under their wing, I've been practicing my diaphragm calls and I'm gonna pattern in the 870 that my pa said had a fixed full choke on it soon. Hopin' to fill a tag for my first time! :)

Thank you,
-Reed

Take a drive through Colville and north to Newport. Look in the fields for turkeys and stop and ask. They are over run with them and most want them gone! Stop and ask. Brings some goodies, salmon, pepperoni etc. odds are you will get permission. Like along the lines of kill them all. Heard that from most farmers when you ask for permission.

 :yeah:

Drive over to north central Washington and stop by the local coffee shop/ bar and just ask, out loud
“Anyone have a Turkey problem?”

One shot. One kill!

Better go southeast to Newport and if you want to go north, head for Northport.........

Colville, and NW of it has tons of birds. South of it does also. But way to many hunters!
