Wolf?
« on: March 17, 2020, 09:33:21 PM »
A little context: This was an iphone that is 5.5" long. The phone is being held 2-3" off the snow, making the track look smaller. There were 3 sets of tracks right next to each other running in a straight line through the snow. The stride length was 35-40" on all sets.

I'm not exactly an expert on wolf tracks, but have seen plenty of coyote/large dog tracks. These ones were big. But, again, I could be completely wrong. Thanks in advance!

Maybe 3 big dogs then.  Also, melting tracks can look bigger  :dunno:

Right on city limit border - not terribly far from the turnbull area, or the rock creek area where landowners have seen wolves down in the canyon.
Thanks for the input though. It was definitely a weird place for 3 dogs to be running through - been to this place many times to shoot my bow and NEVER seen dog tracks

There have been several wolves in Turnbull and down to Rock Lake.  Remember 1 was shot by a Ranch hand 2 year summers ago between Sprague and Lamont.  And then the guy who chased one and shot is southwest of Colfax.  They follow the Elk
