If that firearm belongs to his parents they can be charged for not locking it up and allowing it to be used in the commission of a crime. He obviously has never taken a hunter ed course.

Wow!  Good job turning them in.  My guess is there is a lot more infractions going on there.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

So you turned in the young lad?

If you dont turn them in, it will keep happening.  And theyre not going to limit themselves to just turkeys.

I think people low on meat aren’t posting things to Facebook. I kinda feel bad and it’s weird timing with it almost bring season but poaching bottom line

Low on meat and have to poach “to survive” but hey my phone/internet is still on and I got time to post to Facebook  :dunno:

Some folks want to be off grid and be left alone, They should probably learn to be off social media as well if that is the case.
Hope this experience helps the young man pay more attention to rules and laws in the future, and not letting mom post your "success" pics :chuckle:

That's partly why I live off the grid, but I still follow game laws and seasons.  I put this all on his Parents and Grandparents, not so much on the 14 year old.

It was done that way for thousands of years. No law or season.  No meat?  Hunt and eat.  But I doubt they truly were hungry enough to justify action.   Still plenty resources out there to not starve or poach...

Why waste food stamps on something like meat, which is walking around free for the takin, amirite?

Anybody care to take a wild guess what the most common item purchased with food stamps is?  Ill give you a hint, it does not provide any bit of actual nutrition in any way.  In fact its a major cause of medical conditions which tax payers are also on the hook for.

Come and listen to my story about a man named Jed
A poor mountaineer, barely kept his family fed,
And then one day he was shootin' at some food,
And up through the ground come a bubblin' crude.
Nature. It's cheaper than therapy.

Yes, until we wiped out most of the wild game in the mid-to-late 1800s and hunters finally figured out we needed to regulate harvest. I'm sure there are people suffering right now who may be tempted by immediate access to wild game. I'm unsure this is a large segment of our population and for almost everyone, it's cheaper to buy food at the store, once you get done with all of the peripheral expenses. For those who live in the woods and have game in their backyard, why would you post this stuff on social media? The stupid is strong in this one.
