Best way to figure out draw length
« on: April 23, 2020, 02:26:57 PM »
With the bow shops closed, I am looking to buy my son a used bow and need to figure out his draw length.  I have read a couple of ways on the the internet, but wanted to see if one of the experts on here have a better way?  Any info you have to share would be great.

Thanks

Measure the wingspan and divide by 2.5
God made man, Samuel Colt made them equal.

Wingspan divided by 2.5 and round down to the nearest half inch.

Also seen John Dudley from nock on gave a little trick have your son make a fist like he is holding a bow place fist against wall as if he has bow and shooting and measure from wall to corner of his mouth on anchor point side

This is the easiest way and most accurate I think and it should be within 1/2” anyway. Better then Dudley’s way. Or easier anyway.

So I am between 5'7" and 5'8" but have a 6' wingspan. I shoot 28 1/2" draw and its perfect. Wingspan works 😀

Have him pull a light bow to full draw and Mark arrow with a sharpy on outside of riser.
