Merwin/Yale Kokanee
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:14:52 AM »
Well I finally made it out yesterday. Beautiful day for sure. What could go wrong? Everything and anything. Nothing did 👍 It was just great to be on the water. Had a hard time finding them. Searched in areas haven’t fished before. After about 5-6 hrs called it quits. With only 2 in the boat. One nice fatty and a typical 10”. Made for a good meal. Goal is to get a big enough catch that we can smoke🤑🤑🤑 Next week will be better. No pictures this time. 😉🥃🇺🇸

Worst day of fishing...you know how the rest goes! I’ve been wanting to try out Merwin for a while now. Thanks for the update and glad you had a good time.

Did you try different depths not just different areas?

Oh yeah 20 to 40’. The very few I marked were at the 30-40’.

Me too!  Got to Merwin late on Wed.  Fished two hours without a bite, picked up & went to Yale.  Fished noon to about 4:00.  Hooked 8, landed 4, all small.
Went back to Merwin today, early.  I was waiting at the gate for them to open, thinking on these hot sunny days early might be better.  Fished 4 hrs without a bite.  Like the others reported, tried different depths, rigs, weights & was marking a few at 20-40
