So I get a call from my buddy this morning.  He was up to check his trail camera and when he got there his blind was torn down, stakes are missing, and the trail cam was gone.  So I asked if he would check mine.  Same deal.  My cam and his other cam was gone as well.  WTF?!?!  It's low enough to tear down our blinds, but to steal our camera's as well.  I'm glad I got my cam on clearance and didn't pay a lot for it, but still.

I wonder how much of this is theivery and or someone pissed that they got their picture taken....like an invasion of privacy type of thing.   Just a thought that crossed my mind on the mountain the otehr day.

Someone needs to design a cam that sprays pepper spray or shocks them when they are tampered with! Sorry to hear that, I know I am always paranoid when I put my cams out.

that sucks! I wonder if we can come up with a sticker or something that makes people think that the cam is like law enforcement property... maybe some abbreviated letters??

I've never understood the need to destroy or steal other peoples stuff. It's so depressing to put so much time, effort money into a project. You daydream about what you might get a picture of, only to return and find out some tweaker jacked your stuff. At least I'd like to think it was a tweaker. In all reality, it's most likely another outdoorsman. You know at work we don't even chain our trail cams to the trees any more because people were breaking them or cutting the trees to steal them. Now we figure they're either going to steal them or not, so we just set them against rocks and trees and stuff.

For a while we took to placing a small, easier to conceal camera watching the other camera. But most people can't afford to do that. All we ever got were some bad pics of guys with their hoods up. We also got a photo of a truck at one of the cameras, but no plate. I should post it, maybe someone would recognize it.

You weren't on private property or anything were you?

I do like to find other peoples trail cameras though.  I have always enjoyed posing in front of them when I come across them. Guys put some of these cameras up where they don't think people ever go and when I come across them they usually get a picture of me smiling at them. All in good fun though, never anything mean spirited or inappropriate.

Honestly, I'm still waiting to see myself posted on here by one of you guys. I found a couple of cameras up Finney Creek, one up Jackman Creek and one up off of Hwy 9 near Samish on some Blodel Timber land (That was a nice camera in a metal box, and rumor has it that he's a guide that posts on here). I also came across one down in the Ryderwood Unit on a Muzzleloader elk hunt.

Thats why I don't use one, although I would like to, same with a tree stand, hell you can't even leave your vehicle parked int he woods without knowing someone might break into it and steal your stuff , the *censored*s
