284 ritzville late archery
« on: June 13, 2020, 01:47:25 PM »
Drew the tag dec 1-13. If the rut runs late it will be a real fun hunt. In the past when I’ve hunted the general late tag in the Beezley unit it can be real slow or real action packed depending on the rut. Was wondering if any of you guys have hunted this tag or live in unit and notice when the rut has been stopping in recent years? I’m not to far from the northern part of the unit so I’m guessing the deer will be doing the same things as my local deer. But don’t get down to the south end to much.
Slinging arrows and flinging lead is in my blood!

They won’t be rutting.  They will be on feed (winter wheat).

I also drew one of the 10 tags for this hunt. Looks like there is a fair amount of hunt by written permission land on huntplanner, but it appears to be more like cattle land and not Ag land... Does anyone know if these parcels will actually hold deer in December or will everything just be herded up on the wheat fields?

6haase6, let's touch base later in the fall once the season is closer.

If it’s windy and cold, they will be down in the rocks; but not far a feed source.  I am familiar with the south east part of the unit and the deer are bunched up in large groups that time of year.
