Any pics of late season Naneum Bucks
« on: June 20, 2020, 08:12:21 PM »
I was just wondering if anybody had any success pictures from the quality naneum deer tag in the last few years. Hunting partner drew the tag this year and I will be helping him scout and hopefully pack meat out. We have hunted the area in the past and I know it’s no desert tag  and that’s why I was wondering if anyone could lead us a little more in the right direction of what might be a realistic buck. Thanks

I had the tag a 4 or 5 years ago.  I can honestly say it was the worst deer hunt that I have ever been on.  And at the same time I don't think that I have ever had better weather conditions on a deer hunt.  Couple feet of snow up top had the deer pushed down.  I saw a 50 - 200 deer a day.  But as far as bucks go I only saw 2 that had more than 2pts per side.  1 tiny 3pt.  And 1 small 4pt.  I talked to 2 or 3 other tag holders during my hunt and none had seen a buck bigger than a 2pt on public land.  And only one of them had seen better than a 2pt on private and it was a little 3pt.  I hope you have better luck.

It’s a pretty tight lipped unit. If you put your time in you should be able to come out with a nice buck.

Yeah we are definitely going to be focusing our efforts up high and away from the roads, as much as that can be done. .  I don’t know enough people and we don’t have enough time to be driving around drooling over the local bucks hanging out in the private fields.

Good luck and when all else fails shoot a cull buck. Way to many 2x3 and dinks doing the breeding

Just bringing this back up because my hunting partner’s tag starts this coming Monday. Looks like we’re going to miss most of the snow. It is supposed to warm up and start raining. But hopefully not up higher. Feel free to PM me if any nice bucks were spotted during elk season. I will be out scouting Saturday and he will be over Sunday afternoon in hopes of at least finding out if the bucks are running does

Thanks for the PMs. Good luck to others that have the tag. Hopefully the weather coming this weekend gets the rut going more than it is now. Saw several large groups of does tonight with no bucks in sight.

Still Seeing does with no bucks or spikes and two points. Is anyone else seeing any rut activity? Hopefully tomorrow morning is different. I’m really hoping my hunting partner can get a decent buck so he can get back for his kids bull tag that starts Saturday. His kids elk tag is taking precedence so he’s got about 4 days to get it done. Good luck to all with a tag.
