Most 45 colt ammo you find will be on the light side. This is because there are still a few 100 year old /colts out there. If you are shooting a Ruger you can buy specialty ammo from Buffalo Bore and a few others, that will equal and in some casses exceed the .44mag. I don't know about ammo prices, but I would guess the 45 stuff is Little more than .357. Personally I would opt for the 45 over the .357 anyday, unless you wanted something in a easily concelled pistol.
