Big cat?
« on: June 25, 2020, 05:38:44 PM »
First cat on camera in this area. Haven’t seen one here or gotten one on camera ever since I started hunting this SW WA spot 15 years ago. I killed a cat with my bow a few years ago in Idaho while elk hunting. Would love to try to target a cat here. Never specially tried to go after a cougar. This area I hunt is a ton thick repod. Short of walking the old cat roads, try some rabbit in distress calls and see what happens?

Date and time is obviously incorrect 😂

Fawn looking for mama sounds, not distressed.

I've no idea either.  I like your idea though buckfvr might know better.  I see a lot of bird kills on the edge the deep and dark that I think may be bobcats. so a wounded rabbit or bird call might bring them in too.  First light and last light (or in the dark with night vision) might be best in my mind.  Small mammals, rodents and birds likely are a bigger part of their diet than the occasional fawn.

Thats a big nono for cougar.  Just as illegal as using nightvision/ hunting in the dark for deer.  Cougar is classified as a big game animal.
