Grand daughters first steelhead!
«
on:
July 11, 2020, 03:42:31 PM »
Had 3 generations of young ladies out today. 11 year old grand daughter. Her 30 something grandmother
, and her 30 something great grandmother
.
First time out for steelhead for the grandaughter. just barely into the first run and bam! Fish on! With help from grandma she was able to land a nice 12 lb steelhead. Shes looking forward to having part of it for dinner and trying for another 1 tomorrow. Pretty slow for us. That was the only bite we had. Saw 2 or 3 others caught. Beautiful day on the river with a great crew of young ladies!

Beautiful fish. The fish isn't the only one who got hooked. You have a new first mate on your fishing boat. Well done.

Jaela strikes again. She hooked and lost one on our first drift today. Awhile later Grandma yells. Jaela you have a fish on!. Starts to grab the pole for her but then walks away and says. You better get your fish. She got the pole out of the holder and fought it to the net herself!. I am amazed at how much she enjoys being out on the boat and fishing even when it can be hours between bites. Of the 3 fish we had on this weekend, all of them were on her rod. Go Figure. I'm loving it. I had my only bite of the weekend today and it hit fairly hard and stripped my coon shrimp then was gone.
I thought this one was a little bigger than yesterdays. The scale said 11 pounds. Either I'm mistaken or somebody is tellin fish stories!
She was great at helping me get everything ready to filet the fish. Cleaning up. And helping grandma vacuum pack it.
