Fishing license reduced fee Military/Guard
« on: August 14, 2020, 12:04:27 PM »
Does anyone know for sure if someone is a nonresident National Guard member if they qualify for the reduced fee fishing license?  Typical Guard soldier, one weekend a month, two weeks a year.

It says "active duty military personnel serving in any branch of the United States armed forces" but doesn't specifiy whether that is full time or Guard.

Pretty confusing, RCW 77.32.470 says one day combo license is $16, but WDFW says it's $20.15 and neither talk about nonresident Guard.

My understanding is that you fill out a form and have you boss sign it.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

He's not WA Guard, MT Guard.  Maybe we'll just go to the license counter at the hardware store, flash some Guard ID and see what happens.

From personal past experience you need to be stationed in that state to get the discount. I was a WA resident, home of record there, stationed in CO, and paid CO resident prices. Showed my orders for being there.

More WDFW fun, the fishing reg app and the online emergency regs don't match.  For MA10, the app says 1 chinook, the emergency rules say 2.  MA9 is correct, showing the emergency rule, but not 10.

I have also noticed the line on the app showing the boundary is wrong in several places, so what would happen if you were in bounds on the app, but out of bounds according to the written regs?  Ticket for following WDFW guidance.

Sheesh, I love the idea of an app, but giving wrong information isn't acceptable.

I am retired disabled 70 %, so I get tags at cost of resident.  (I live in Oregon).

I believe you have to be active duty, and or retired with a disability.  Has to go through Olympia office not at a store.
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

Disabled 30% vet gets reduced rates.  I believe active duty WA NG gets their license for free.  Don't quote me on that but I thought that something was passed last year on that.  We actually get a cheaper rate than residents.
