deer hunt GMU 448 near lake stevens
« on: August 29, 2020, 01:52:21 AM »
I am newbie here for hunting as well as this forum.

I just got my license, so i am thrilled and want to get out there and get my first deer.

But i don't know where to start. Can you guys share the good spot and any trick to find deer trail... It's still unclear for me which land i can hunt and how i can find deer or bobcat and coyote. Is there coyote up north.

Get onx maps, it will show you land ownership boundaries. You can hunt in state DNR land and national forests. Some private timberlands allow anyone to hunt but you have to figure it out.

I second the onX hunting app. It’s a good tool to have with you at all times, the advice given above is sound and all you need to do is a little leg work and you’ll start to figure things out. Pay attention to the land everytime you go out and take mental notes on activity and times of day as well. Things will start making sense the more time you’re in the woods.
Never give up.... you never know what’s around the next corner or over the next ridge......enjoy it while you can!
