Teanaway cow help
« on: October 07, 2020, 01:30:07 PM »
My buddy drew a cow tag for 335, we can’t get him on an elk.

Anybody have some good intel on where they are hiding in this unit?

I haven't been up in there but I've been all over 328 and it's just tough hunting with the weather right now. Only time you might see them up and about is morning and evening, and even then it's hit or miss.

Tried yellow hill, along the north and west fork rd and up by red top.
Heard a couple bugles this morning, so will head back to that spot this afternoon.
The weather change is about 5 days late, but seems to be helping.

Thanks to all who posted and sent PM. We couldn’t make it happen for him. The population in the unit has changed quite dramatically in the last couple years. What was once a “gimme meat tag” is now tough work, and true spikes are probably just slightly more plentiful than sasquatch.

thats a very true statement. that unit has definitely changed for the worse. i had a cow tag in 2017 and we thought it was a slam dunk. not so. we filled it, but it took quite a few trips. not like it used to be in there.
