Killed half a dozen animals with the hammers and your findings mirror my own...they perform very consistent and are in my opinion a happy medium in bullet design
You might even consider dropping to the 160s as realistically the loss in weight will be greatly offset by the speed youl gain

I thought about that but I wanted a bullet that would work superb on elk and also work well on deer. I may order some 160s now that I have a long time to work up a load.
I was nervous about the light bullet too but after my 3rd elk,shooting at all angles, I can say with absolute certainty that you can shoot at any angle...the damage and penetration is impressive
