Sorry the pictures are not very good.I saw this deer last week in the same area and didn't get any pics.Hirailed today and they were there again.Its is lacking hair on both sides.

There was another deer last week a little further up the tracks with hair missing also.This is just east of Gold Bar on the rr tracks.

I had 2 of them behind the house through the winter found one of them dead about a month ago. The other is till running around up there. Somebody was telling me it was from having fleas and malnutrition and they end up losing there hair and usually don't make it over the winter. Don't know this for a fact though.

I have seen a lot of deer with that problem on the wetside this winter, including fawns...

Its actually caused by a species of chewing louse that is believed to have been introduced by European deer species on game ranches. The one tracker got a picture of looks like it needs a blanket and saddle, not a toupee.

I saw four blacktails today that looked just like that deer. They looked piebald almost white in some places on their bodies.
