Used to do that the old way also. As for "smashing" stuff, yes it will do that. I've been having fun, sometimes with buddies over it's beer games and lets see/bet on how much it will smash this?... Where have you guys found the cheaper chamber sealer bags> We recently got the Costco chamber sealer but haven't played with it much but I know I need to buy some bulk quality bags.Thanks
