Hubba hubba nx
« on: January 05, 2021, 11:11:38 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with this? Looking to add a packable floored tent to my arsenal and this one seems to pop up for sale used here and there.

Great tent you you are not tall. I'm 6'4 and with the wall slant it is not long enough.

I’ve had mine for several years and love it! With two people each side has their own vestibule and entrance. I like the openings because the vestibule shelters you as you put on or remove boots and there’s no awkward climbing from one end to the other or over each other.

Have also stored backpacks, boots and rifle under them.

The build quality is good, but I haven’t been real hard on mine. With the lighter weight fabric, it may not take as much abuse as a heavier tent would. I do use their footprint.

With two people you’ll benefit from each other’s body heat😜
Very roomy for one.

Solid choice.  I've been using one for 5 years on backpacking trips and quick weekend car camp hunts.  No issues.

I’d go with the Copper Spur if it was me. I know you’re tall. It’s 4” longer than the MSR tent and over a pound lighter. Same price.

I like that one for sure. Reason I asked about the hubba is because there is a used one for sale for $200...  :o

If I had been required to pay  retail price for my Hubba, I’d have chosen the Copper Spur as well. But $200 is a good price for a used HH assuming it’s in good shape.

I will re-look at the specs to make sure I am comfortable with the length. Last thing I want is my feet or head touching the ends and getting damp/wet

84x50. 7 feet. I’m 6’4” and you’re close to me as I recall. That will give you 4” ish on either end. Not enough for me.

84 is the floor but the walls angle. You loose length at least a few inches per end. My feet and head touch in the hubbahubba. Copper Spur all the way.

Copper Spur looks pretty sweet and well thought out.

Nice that it comes in olive, too.  It looks to maximize airflow and has the nice option to pitch the vestibule for shelter in the rain. That seems like it would come in handy on the wet side.

I am not in the market, but I would have a hard time choosing something else, if I were.
