Montana question

So, I live in Montana, I have spoke to our FWP office multiple times and can never get the same response twice. My question is , as a NR, I am told that if you put in for a NR landowners sponsored deer tag, with certificate, that you can not obtain an elk general license , only cow B tags. Is this what those of you who have received a NR landowners sponsored  deer tag have found.....I already know how ridiculous our licensing system is, so I really do not need to hear about that, thanks.

Just tagging this one. I was going to get the landowner sponsored deer tag this year but dont know about the elk license either
