Does anyone have insight into where to find guns that aren't old, but also are no longer in production? I've been looking around some for a stainless Browning A-bolt 2 in 270 win. It seems like I find listings that are already sold (quite awhile ago) or not what I'm after. Ideally I'd like to find one that's new or close to new. I thought someone on here might have a recommendation for online sources or smaller dealers that specialize in this type of request.
Thanks for any tips

Online auctions and or searches. Keep changing up the wording and/or put less specific search criteria to get more hits. I have bought that way. Took some time to wade through the info but it paid off in the end. A lot of the smaller places will put their stuff online, but put minimal wording on it, and it just won’t get the hits the bigger places do.
Also walked into a smaller dealership and a ‘rare’ item I wanted was right there in front of me. Actually had my mouth hanging open and was frozen in place for long enough I probably looked pretty silly.

All good info above. Also, just tell us EXACTLY what you want and include a picture. I've found several guns for people this way. I'll have to look through my old sources that haven't been mentioned.

Thanks for the tips, I’ll keep trying with different searches

I’m looking for a Browning A-bolt 2 Stainless Stalker. They were produced from the early to mid 90’s up until I believe the early 2000’s. I believe they were discontinued when the X-bolt was introduced. Specifically I’d like to find a clean one in 270 win, although I’d consider 30-06 as well. At some point they were offered with their tunable muzzle brake called BOSS.  I don’t want that, but it wouldn’t be a deal breaker because you can replace it with a thread protector.
I have this rifle in 338 Win Mag that I purchased in 95. I basically want to have the same rifle in a shorter/lighter package
