« on: April 02, 2021, 03:14:57 PM »
Figured it was time to get the new 2021 turkey thread started.

Good luck to all the youth hunters and let’s see some pics!

Daughters Tom yesterday.  Saturday was a bust dealing with guys teaching their kids the bail out and run method.  Even if somebody is hunting them, but that’s hunting feel free to hunt land.  On the way home went to a little more out of the way spot and found 6 Toms  and a bunch of jakes and hens.  After an hour we had three of them in range and she harvested a nice longbeard.

Easter Sunday was a great day to be in the woods. Avery filled her two tags on Sunday. At 10 years old, she’s already killed 6 redheads in her first three years of hunting. This year was a little different as it actually took two shots to kill the two gobblers. The last two years she has filled both tags with one shot. As most dads of daughters can attest to, the way your daughter looks at you melts your heart. Love every minute I get to spend with her and can’t wait for our next adventure together. Now it’s brother’s turn!

The log picture is money. That should be entered for the turkey pamphlet next year.

Congrats to all the youth hunters!
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Little Pathfinder's submission from youth season.  Birds were smarter than usual.  Lots of toms hanging out at 60 yards and not closing the deal. Pretty cool way to witness Easter Sunrise.
Finally got a pair of toms to cooperate on Sunday evening.
Tied for his largest bird with the one he killed two years ago with a 10" beard.  Longest spurs though at 1 1/8".
