Front muzzy site
« on: April 03, 2021, 09:27:07 PM »
Long story short.  I bought a new CVA optima, and had a williams peep site put on it before it was shipped to me.  Iam in need of a shorter front site, because Im roughly 10 inches low at 50 yds and have run out of ramp on my back site.  I had Gators guns look at it and all they could tell me was I needed a front site in the .225/.235 range.  I cant seem to find one on line, can anyone tell me where I might get one that will fit my optima.

I had the same exact issue with my Traditions. This sight is what I got and it worked perfectly. Says it works on CVA as well

Get a peeprib to solve your back sight issue and your front sight issue will resolve itself. The stock rear sight is way too far forward. With the peeprib it's both a sight and a rail and the sight is right at the very back of your barrel. Plus with the rail you could throw a scope on it and hunt in firearms restricted areas.

I just ordered the peeprib.  It sounds like the solution.  Thanks

I just received my peekrib today and installed it in a couple minutes.  It gave me plenty of ramp and the front site is right dead center with room to go up or down.  It seems to be just what I needed.  Obviously I still need to shoot, but it looks like the answer.   Thank you Optic2

What front insert are you using lee shaver?I did the same to mine, but had a tough time seeing  the cross hairs in low light last hunting season. Thinking about removing it and going back to the stock sight.

With the Lee Shaver inserts you can use 2 inserts together.  Try the Thicker duplex with the fine crosshair or the the thicker duplex with the post and dot.

You're welcome. You can also replace the peep sight if you want to try something else. I use a Williams ghost ring.
