Centralia Mine
« on: May 01, 2021, 10:36:59 PM »
Notice in the new category for elk of 65 and older is the mine property.  Anybody know the area or herd size etc.  Did notice that one of the conditions is a single weekend for your hunt.  If you prefer to PM me that's just fine with me also.  Thanks

I don't know anyone who has got this tag is recent years but in the past it was check in with security and drive out to the herd and pick one.   The mine property is fairly large around the plant and there is always a few decent herds on it and nothing to drastic for our senior hunters to tackle.

.
Depends on your hunting style.
.
Access to private property only matters when the elk are there.
.
The 'hunt" consists of being escorted around the property by an employee.
.
The elk move there because they are pushed out of the Vail permit area.
The lead cow is probably old enough to know the "safe zone" and head to boundaries.
.
It is not a "guarantee" hunt.
The elk move from private-
Private during the night.
One week they are there, next week they are somewhere else.
.
It's a road hunt, on private property, not an elk hunt.
.
.
Would love an "easy one" myself....
.
But it's elk, never as easy as it sounds...

It's an easy hunt.  Drive out with employee and shoot one.

:yeah:  Its not hunting...   Elk 99% always there.  Other herds move in during hunt season from vail n such.  Big area but elk are always in select few areas.  Imagine driving out to a game farm with an escort, shooting your allowed pick on their time schedule.  Expect to harvest.
MAGA!  Again..

:yeah: Back in the day-90's I think- they shot at least 20 at once when I was down there pheasant hunting.
