Kayak Fishing near Leavenworth/Wenatchee

What's the hot ticket item this time of year? I've got several evenings and at least one full day to fish. Not looking for honey holes, just places that have tons of hungry and sizeable fish.

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I'd go drop in at Fish Lake.  Prime time for trout there.

Just watch the wind - mornings are generally calm, but the wind can start kicking up by late morning.

Thanks! That was my number one plan. Been a decade or so since I've been at Fish Lake. Figure standard stuff, flasher and wedding ring, maybe kekeda flies.

Yup, just normal stuff.  Fish depth can vary a little, so adjust if you're not catching.  I like to run straight spoons with no flasher to keep it light (triple teaser, dick night, etc.), but also use a wedding ring tipped with worm.  Sometimes with the kids, we'll just park and drift with worms under a bobber.  Catch plenty that way too.

And be prepared for some serious mosquitos.  I've seen herds of the little buggers around Fish Lake that literally blot out the sun this time of year.

And yeah mosquitoes are fierce this time of year. I'm considered a main course in their world. Usually after an hour I'm just one solid welt and can't feel anything
