To the Green Crow bike thieves... WARNING HUNTERS
« on: April 26, 2009, 09:06:21 PM »
Just a warning to the Monroe Bear hunters, there is a couple of guys on dirt bikes that like to try to break into vehicles.

To the inept bike thieves (two boys on dirt bikes at 3 pm, Green Crow property):

Today (sunday april 26th) you tried pathetically to break into my rig.

You throw like a girl, next time, get a bigger rock you pansies.

Also, a thought...it might be better to break into (or try to) vehicles that are NOT owned by heavily armed people.

If you wanted my Chips Ahoy, all you had to do was ask.

Cheers,

Douglas~

Other than that, it was a good day. I am starting to pattern this bear a bit...or at least I think I am.

the *censored*s are not smart enough to know they are breaking into someone's vehicle who is carrying guns...it's a problem up that way, especially for fishermen on the river.
almost better to take everything out of your car and leave the doors unlocked, but then they'll steal your seats.

park in the same spot leave a real expensive something on the seat and set a bear trap by the doors of you rig. the problem should solve it self  ;)

Well it ain't right for sure.  I only hope their brain development catches up w/the rest of their body before they incur the wrath they deserve-kinda like a young Lab re:the brain development.  Having taught high school auto mechanics for 35 yrs I can sympathize w/what Mark Twain said about teen agers.  "When they turn 12 put them in a barrel & feed them thru the bung hole.  When they turn about 15, plug up the bung hole." (very loosely transulated).

Up above the N Skagit area last Spring Bear season, I saw a CAT road grader that had all the windows smashed out.  There were mtr cycle tracks all around the grader.  The rider had smashed all the windows except one which he was too stupid or too weak to bust.  I spoke to the DNR operator & he said it was a normal occurance. Again, wish their brain development would keep up w/their body ( course I could tell you a couple of stories about a young, stupid, Sideswipe but that would be self-incriminating eh?).

Little less drastic than bear traps, but it will sting.  Spray your door handle with pepper spray or bear spray.  When they screw up and wipe their nose or rub their eyes LOOOK OUT! :chuckle:

Just remember to flush it off before you get back in.

If i sprayed my truck, I would probably get nailed for baiting with scent... :chuckle:

They didnt scare me off of the area though Arees...im too close!

ICEMAN, I already kind of had a sign in the window, at least saying I was bear hunting, which was required by Green Crow.

But it didnt say I was close by....even though I was.

Unfortunatley, this is becoming a real problem in the Sky Valley.  Last year I was hunting right by Green Crow and had some issues.

IF I would have seen them, I am pretty sure they would be in jail right now...or I would.. ;)

Full story goes...

Parked a ways from where I wanted to go in the morning, walked in...

watched the fields for like 6 hours...was getting hungry and I squished my banana on accident, so I thought, I could reposition my game cam (to a great trail) and move the truck closer while getting a snack.  I wanted to walk a little anyway.

So, off I go, I pick up the game cam (got some deer on it) and headed back to the rig. Eat quickly, drive up closer to where I am going to walk in (which would be the same fields), that way I could stay put a bit longer, plus, I had already made some noise in there, so I figured what the heck. I walk in bout 10-15 min walk.

I just get into position and I hear bikes coming down the hill. Two of them. I hear one guy yell..."Hey theres a car" and I figured they were spooked by it possilby, since they more than likely didnt have permission to be back there.

I hear them slow down (sound carries a long way) and idle...I can hear one back reving a bit..then..POP, Pop pop...I figured, well..my truck just got broke into or that was a backfire...I was leaning towards a back fire since I didnt hear my alarm going nuts...(although I am surprised my alarm didnt go off cause of the damage)

Then I hear some more burn outs and they headed back up the hill (which I went up and followed in the evening, but they couuld have left by a few gates by then, and it was like 4 hours later).

The point is, I would have had to walk about 10-15 minutes from where I was (and miss them) but I wasnt sure they even did anything yet...in retrospect, I guess I should have went and check...I was giving them the benefit of the doubt.

So, I didnt catch them, but i know it was them for sure, as it was obvious. I just noticed today they tried to bash in the back window too...

BUT FAILED MISERABLY! LOL! Suckers! :kneel:

Needless to say, I will still hunt there, but I will come out of the woods more readily now.

If they or someon they know happens to read this, watch the part on pulp fiction where travolta talks about the kids who keyed his car (drug dealers scene)...

Had this happen to a buddies truck one time. They were just breaking the window, not trying to get in. We saw who did it and caught up with them. Ended up with a assault charge, and around $4000 out of pocket for lawyer fees, missed work and a B.S. hospital bill from the one kid. If i could do it over again i would have kicked the *censored* out of the three of them and just left. We caught them at a store so there were a lot of witnesses. This pisses me off because I never even hit the kid. I escorted hem the the side walk and had him sit there until the sheriff showed up. They were let go and i was written the ticket. >:(

I also have had my vehicle broken into while fishing, If IM in the woods and catch someone they are going to be hurting and I wont be turning them in due to the fact that I will get in more trouble with the law then them. Maybe we should just tie them up to a tree and leave them!. its sad that criminals have more rights then we do we should all start a militia that just baits cars at hunting/fishing locations stun guns and pepper spray cause they will all ressist citizents arest of course :chuckle:

Hey Stomper,

Thanks. I was worried about the logging rigs in there too, I figured they might bust out the windows, once again making it bad for us special permit hunters. I called and left a message with Green Crow that night, just to let them know there were people in there.

There is a gate just off of highway 2 a mile or so, on Kellogg lake road, right hand side (its yellow). There is a residence with a similar yellow gate just before the logging gate.

If you go through the logging gate, there is a gravel pit on the right hand side not far up the road. I was on these road systems.

To my knowledge, Monroe spring bear permit hunters dont have any area to hunt of Mann rd.
