Idaho super deer tag!

I was one of the lucky 8 to draw a coveted idaho super deer tag.  I am extremely excited for this opportunity!  If anyone wants to share there experiences in the premium deer units in Idaho please feel free!  Im mainly focused on the early archery hunt in unit 45 and the late rifle hunts in 36B and late 60-1 hunt in Island park.  If any of you have had the super tag or have hunted these units I'd love to chat with you!  Thanks in advance!

Congratulations Sir! What kind of buck are you gonna be happy to punch your tag on? I hunted 45 rifle a few years back and my boy had a November doe tag in there last year Im happy to pass on what I know and have learned. Not sure how much will correlate for early archery though. I have spent a little time in 45 and there are for sure some great deer in that country.

Congrats and sound like you are on the right track unit wise.

If it were me, I’d start in 55 early with my rifle (Aug 15).  Then move to the opener of 44 rifle (Sept 15).  DO NOT miss the last week of Oct in 45!!!!

A good friend’s 12 year old drew one a couple of years ago.   It was pretty fun helping and following along.  He ended up killing a beautiful 190” typical.   Had an opportunity at a typical over 200” and the poor kid had to pass a lot of 180” deer.

I’ll be in Magic Valley the from about the 23rd of Oct - 15 November.  Send me a Pm with your number and we can keep in touch.
