Just spent the night NOT sleeping... Bella and Milo's litter arrived!

This is my son Alex's dog's first litter. My girl Bella's 3rd.

Milo has a very decorated pedigree on his Dad's side, (something like 18 blings on the 4 generation sheet), he's proving out to be a great pet, trainable and enthusiastic hunter, and a beautiful Dog. Ideal size, super athleticism, excellent confirmation, great spirit, and a super first dog for Alex.

Bella is a square, solid, super intelligent Lab, great pet, queen of our pack, and a fierce hunter, with two litters of proven pups before this one. One pup (thanks to Jeff) has made Jr Hunter, but all of her pups have that kind of potential.

We ended up with 2 Chocolate Females, 4 Black Females, and 4 Black Males.

I'll be taking deposits and reserving them starting right after I contact a couple people who were already on the list.

Asking $1000 females. $800 males. $300 deposit (only refundable from my end), Balance upon delivery.

8 weeks old delivery minimum, I definitely prefer 10, but people are often anxious to get them. I'll decide later if I'll demand ten weeks. (The socialization with the litter mates is critical to a dog's future emotional stability, demeanor, and trainability.)

Full AKC registrations included, not limited.

My pups get dew claws, 2-3 wormings, (all my adult dogs are on diatomacious earth, but the pups will also get medicinal wormings), 2 of three series of immunization shots, and LOTS of interaction with kids, young adults, and adult dogs. They participate in retriever drills the adults are doing, and they get some group manners training.

Quick Update,

Some growth pics... Face close up, and now they've at least doubled in size and move away from Mamma for a nap after nursing! Dew claws have been removed, all came out great!

One Chocolate female reserved, One Black female reserved, inquiries on the other choc, and a black male, but nothing set yet...

Still keeping them inside, instead of out in the custom built puppy whelping area, due to the smoke in Selah. Getting really discouraged about the free growing Schneider Springs fire... going to be very different in the Yakima Mountains for a LONG time to come. Keeping puppies inside for their developmental health is a small symptom...

If any one is thinking about getting a new lab pup, don't sit on the fence post to long.
These pups will be gone quick. We got a black female from Steve last August and she is so beautiful
and smart, just like her mom. Incredible composition and athleticism and a nose for birds big time!
Steve does a great job raising these pups. Damn I want another??? My pup has been on 48 mountain
hikes in her first year. Talk about fun. Did I mention smart?

So great to hear, JWBINX! The yellow boy from your litter is the one who’s young owner achieved the AKC Jr Hunter title with him! So great to hear your pup is doing awesome! (Similar stories on the litter’s Facebook group page.)

Yes, I took a yellow male from the last litter. He went for 4-4 in his first 4 junior hunt tests. That litter had a different sire and those pups weren’t as hard charging bird dogs as some but their disposition is amazing, they love people and when birds are around they get very fired up and just get after it. I am very happy with Charlie and think Steve does a fine job socializing the puppies. Don’t know yet if we will run Senior Hunt Tests or not as we may just hunt. Feel free to ask questions if you are interested in these pups!

Was great to watch Charlie and his young trainer! Wish I had more owners like them! (I love to see how well a couch dog is cared for... but something inside me says, "Get the pup out in the field!") Bella and the previous sire are both very different personalities home vs field, like flipping a switch, something I like about a working pet. Milo is higher energy, more intense when he sees you coming, wants to perform! He's young, and he responds very well to authority. (Something my son has a little trouble asserting... I don't!) He's a great pet, but favors the field. (You can see in the video, he loves to get air before he hits the water! That's him to a T! No wonder his Dad's side did field trials.)

I'm planning to let them go October 28th... unless a new owner has specific need to pick up early. Ten weeks is just the ideal time to send them into a new Pack and have them attach to an Alpha (YOU!) At least two are going later.

So the schedule works out to do a full 5 wormings, and all 3 'Spectra 9' Immunization shots. Did the second worming and first shot today.
