ALERT: WDFW Commissioners Discuss New Draft Conservation Policy
« on: September 23, 2021, 05:12:19 PM »
Sportsmen should be very concerned that some on WDFW's Commission (and admin leadership!) are trying to change the definition of conservation AND move away from the North American Model of Wildlife Management.

Changing the definition to represent a more preservationist one is a move the anti-hunting crowd would absolutely love to see happen.

Sportsmen are consumptive users and we are an extremely valuable wildlife management tool.  We fund an outsized portion of WDFW's budget compared with the overall populace.

Please take the time to read the article and investigate the links.

Thank you for sharing that article. Interesting read for sure. It really does not surprise me. I have listened to multiple meetings over the last year or so and it almost makes me want to gag every time. It really is a surprise that we are allowed to do half of the things we do with the people on the commission. They could absolutely 100% care less about sportsmen and women. Kim is the only one who stands her ground and makes logical decisions, not just because she wants to appease the crowd and appear "woke"

I agree Kim Thorburn is a sportsmens Ally.  Don McIssac is also a strong advocate. They both have a strong command of the issues and the ramifications of these proposed changes. It appears even in tangable ways most sportsmen may not think of.
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

So...what can we do? It doesn’t matter how many emails we send to thorburg and mcissac, they are severely outnumbered. Does Susewind have any say in anything? I see this states hunting rights being reduced drastically in the near future. Things are going to get very western.

We still have a representative government. Contact your Senators and Representatives and overwhelm the Commission meetings with pissed off but well spoken people that are tired of this anti-consumptive crap.

Hunters and anglers are going to have to take the gloves off.

If it was me the first thing I would ask them is ,
Why are we wasting time and money on a definition.
What a freaking joke,Jesus Christ this is a pisser.

Anyway I took it on myself to look up the definition of conservation, and you won't believe what the Webster dictionary said conservation is. Just take a look for yourself.

Leftists are always trying to change the definitional meaning of words.

Hunters are generally very bad about participating in the F&W process at the Commission and also communicating effectively with their legislators.
