Coyote Hunting
« on: August 27, 2021, 10:13:48 PM »
I'm a new hunter and am starting off with coyotes. I've been doing a lot of research and gathering the proper gear. I was focusing on hunting in Eastern WA until I found out DNR lands are closed due to fire danger. Now I'm starting to look at South West and possibly North WA. From looking online I see that a lot of property in the South West is owned by timber companies and requires a permit to hunt. I want to get out and do some scouting, does anyone have any suggestions on where to look in those areas?

JBLM is over run with Coyotes, but is a bit of a hassle to get permission.

Lot of small Parcels of public land around Capitol Forest.

I know a farmer who has had a lot of predation and wants his property hunted in Thurston County. One area overlooks where they are coming in but will need extra planning to get the hide and the decoy set up for the first time.

PM me if needed.

Coyote hunting is very difficult starting out.  Understanding the coyote is your first battle.  I could talk your ear off.  There all over state land, BLM, forest service and the list goes on….My recommendation is to get out there and hunt
I provide a service to cattle ranchers year around that have problem coyotes.  I also provide guided night hunts year around. I sell Night Vision and Thermal optics. The scopes I use are the NVision Halo XRF and Pulsar Merger XL50 LRF HD Binoculars

Be careful of other predators. When calling coyotes I always seem to end up calling in bears. When calling bears I always end up calling in coyotes.   :bash:
