From that BHA post it sounds like the next thing we can do as individuals will be to participate in sending letters to the Senate Natural Resources Committee. Google didn't bring up an obvious "contact the committee" type link like there is for the Commission. If anyone is a BHA member that will receive that action alert, can they please post the contact info here?

I will do that but I'd also like to make another request for people:

I'd love everyone to join BHA, but realistically I think that people just getting on the emailing list would be really help. The reason I say that is because when the chapter sent out the prevote call to action it went to everyone on the Washington mailing list, not just members. It doesn't mean you have to respond to anything you get from them, but if you do it'll automatically be routed to your reps based on address. Just a thought. Of course with the natural resources committee, all contact is good but the best is if those senators are gearing it from their direct constituents  :twocents:

Direct action link. Easy way to get your comments to the WDFW commission

Great looking form but it wouldn't work for me, so I used the form on the WDFW site:

Thank you to BHA for creating that.  Super easy way to contact the commission.

Here is a link to the Senate Natural Resources Committee - contact for each is attached.

https://leg.wa.gov/Senate/Committees/AWNP/Pages/MembersStaff.aspx

Comments should ask that they make a recommendation to the Senate to reject Lorna Smith as an appointee to the Commission by Gov. Inslee.

Here is a link to a podcast covering the topic and next steps.

Lots of good information as well as some very uninformed information.  Is PNW affiliated with BHA?

Thanks for the feedback, Tbar.

No affiliation besides supporting each other. Just trying to bring hunters together to spread some information on what steps can be taken to try and get the season back and prevent this from happening in the future.

Couple questions on this subject. Is it a ban or a suspension on the spring bear hunt? The commission had a 4-4 tie on the spring hunts, which is something they vote on every year right? If they do vote on it every year, what's the reasoning/history for doing so, is this standard for all species?

Haus it is just a suspension until they vote again.

I had lead a voter registration drive at gunshows and other events for about two years before the 2020 elections. One event that stood out was when we got permission to set up a voter registration drive table in front of the Bass Pro Shop, about 2/3 of the people gave us hostile stares because they did not want politics in their life. We told them about a recently passed gun control initiative, I-1639. Most of the people that would talk to us never heard about it. Many called us liars as they did not want to believe it.

Fact is that most outdoorsmen don't vote, they don't want to get involved. They seek escapism via sport and do not want to be informed.
Audacity, and again, audacity, and always audacity.

Do you have anything to validate your "fact"? In my walk it's the opposite, also look at the political board here, it is quite busy, even to the point where the forum's focus seems blurred at times.  :dunno:
