Blacktails bed with the wind at their backs, so they can watch out front where there is no scent coming from.

I use grunts, bleats on blackies, something less alarming than a random rock falling, or twig breaking, IMO which is more alarming to them.

Your doing it right when you get that close.👍

I had an experience two days ago, but I’m saving that for my end of year deer hunt thread.😉

Keep at you’ll be successful, I’m seeing good numbers of deer everyday right now.

First let me congratulate you on seeing a deer in Capitol Forest.
I only ever see them in one of 3 cuts that are all connected by one drainage

As a Gun huntress, I tapped them on the back!  Area was Orcas Island, Yes they may be, little BUT Seen alot of BIG Bucks there too.
There IS more deer than folks there on that island... :hello: :yike:
