What kind of bait.
« on: May 07, 2009, 08:39:31 AM »
My neighbor gave me some chinook this last year and it was great so I figured I would give it a try to get some of my own. The Yakima will open on the 16th for spring chinook and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips on a good set up for some good fishing. Thanks in advance.

A float and eggs will work just fine! Better the eggs, better the bite! If you dont have them, the best you can buy is Scott Ammermans. Pricey, but worth it.

Bobber and eggs or drifting eggs and a corkie on the bottom.  If you have a driftboat then you can back troll plugs and or spin n glo and eggs.  Good luck.  Yak springers are a ton of fun.

I second the bobber and eggs. I caught a Springer this last weekend on some eggs I cured with Ammerman's...its good stuff. I also caught one on ProGlo, and two on Last Supper, so I don't think they were being too picky.  ;)
