E Caller with most remote range? Maybe a modified system?
« on: January 10, 2022, 10:06:17 PM »
Might have been covered before, but I didn't find anything in search.

I'm looking for an e calling system that has the most range for remote control.  Most that I have found, at least somewhat reasonably priced, max out at 100yds.  I've found one that goes to 300 but direct line of sight.

Looking for something that goes out to 300-500 yards for the remote. Any thoughts? Maybe modify something with a different remote/tx/rx?

Thanks
-Bronson

I went to GPS collars for training and tracking.  They have long range and have came down in price.  Check out a garmin alpha and the mini collars.  I love them

Thanks wacoyotehunter, I'm talking about electronic predator calls though not a dog collar.

I can get about 80 yards on my Fox pro Firestorm not sure a factory setup will reach the distance you are looking for

Icotec seems to reach out to 300 yds, more than my foxpro.  I wish it had a dedicated on/off switch on the remote though,  I accidentally turn it on sometimes after I drop off the speaker unit.

The old Wildlife Technologies callers used FRS radios as remotes... all the range too! Some people used them for long range shooting and trail camera traps on occasion. It'd be a trick to find one, but they were pretty cool!

Thanks everyone for their input.  I will look in to the Icotec and Lucky Duck options, and keep an eye out for the Wildlife Technologies on ebay.

If you want to just continuously call ,with no pause or sound change.
I've walked away from my caller to walk around a bit, after an hour of calling ,sometimes I get bored and will go walk around within a half mile or so. It just plays and plays.
It also lets you know how far the sound is going.
I'm just using fox pro cheap.
