You know you could plant a shad under the corn in your garden and i bet it would help it grow.
You can also chunk it up and fill a gallon glass jar and put a plastic bag around the top with a rubber band. Set that out in the sun until about Sept.. Then carefully seperate the yellowish clear fluid from the grey gunk. Put that into a glass jar with a good lid and you have some excellent fish oil for bait.
For those who enjoy cooking anything they can catch. Put the shad in a covered dish after cleaning and scaling. put onions, garlic, and butter, and lemon in it. Cook at 225 degrees for 5-6 hours. The bones are suppose to be so soft you don't notice them and the shad is suppose to be good. Havn't tried it yet.
