Searching for this topic online didn’t turn up much. So, after I did some testing here are the results.
I was in search of a big game hunting round for this rifle. Today I tested federal terminal ascent 175s. Based on availability, and how well this one did, I don’t need to test any other ammo.
-Sig cross 308 16” barrel
-Temp 64
-Elevation 500 ft
-Average 100 yrd group was just under a minute. Shot off a few sand socks.
-Average velocity over 20 rounds was 2495. Using radar.
Also tested some cheap target ammo:
Seller and bellot 147gn fmj
Average group 1.25
Velocity was high 2500s, didn’t record it.
