Another vacuum sealer thread.
« on: February 19, 2022, 06:18:36 PM »
I have read several threads on the subject and understand the "buy once, cry once" attitude.
Yet, dropping more than $300 on one is not something I want to do at this time.
.
I want portability because I plan on using it mostly in situations where I am processing in the field.
.
Would like a 12v dc option, but have both an inverter and a generator, so not necessary.
.
I have been looking, but most options I see have consistent complaints about not working out of the box, or failing soon after.
.
Anybody ever bought a "cheap" one that performed above expectations?
.
Or have excellent customer service response to any issues?

We're using one that was bought on clearance at Walmart for $25.  Now they go $40.

I've put about 100 bags through so far and it works perfect, even hands free.  It's also simple to store, slightly larger than a roll of foil.  We take it on hunting trips, easy to pack around.

I'm certainly in the minority on vac sealers around here, but I've never had any problems or reason to spend more.

The Costco unit is hard to beat for the price.  It will work for many yes.  Mine is going on 10 years, and has put many, many bags through it

I purchased this one 6 months ago. Was also worried like you about reviews of not working out of the box.
Sure enough that happened. They had some issue with the density of the foam sealing thing and sent me new foam inserts. Customer service was very helpful and quick, zero problems with it since.

I’ve bought one of the $400 heavy duty units from Cabela’s and the $200 ones from Costco. Lucky to get 5 years out of either. Just throw it away and buy another one
