Redi’s season: coyotes in cages
« on: April 29, 2022, 09:21:00 PM »
Had a few surprises this season. I caught 3 coyotes in cage traps. I was targeting bobcats but the coyotes couldn’t resist the bait. Pics to follow don’t have enough service to post now

Sweet not easy to do!!!

I caught a couple when I was a kid in cages. They were very young or on deaths bed/in a bad way.

I'm going to build a couple clever traps this summer to see if I can cage them more often. Will be an interesting experiment.

I have caught 6 in cages in the last 6 years. I got two this year in one of Bruce’s older single doors in the same location about 3 weeks apart.

Pics. I will measure tomorrow but about 10-12 x 18 x 40. Quite small for a coyote

What type of bait were you using when the coyotes were trapped?

I was using beaver. They never seem to go for the fresh meat. Always old dried up piece.
