I'm so excited for moose hunting in unit 117. I was in disbelief when I was chosen with 9pts.
I'm all dialed in with several other tags! Brought my trusty 3030, 180 for other game.
1st time having a partner after 16 years hunting alone, there will be videos, my daughters tech savvy!
Good luck everyone, so glad instilling off.
30-30 for moose? And kinda sounds like you’re bragging. 9 points. I honestly wish people would keep that to themselves. Yes I’m salty :chuckle:.good luck and kill a masher
You are a salty *censored* you know points don't mean a dang thing in this state.  People should not post or ask how many points it took to draw.  So then the people that don't understand the draw system won't get butt hurt.  I am not saying that is you cause I know you know how it works.  So quit being a salty old *censored*

I'm not stupid to use a 3030 on a moose, I hold other tags if you can't say anything nice then don't post saltyness! Now I know why I quit this site years ago!

I know how the points work. They don’t :chuckle:
Lil shooter girl. I’m not being negative to you. Mad at the state! If you noticed the smiley emoji and kill a masher in my post. Best of luck!

I shot my moose at 30 yards with my archery gear, walked right up to him while he stood there looking at me as if I was going to get stomped. :chuckle:

There are no issues using a 3030 for moose, as long as you know the limits…which it sounds like you do! Good luck!

I’m sure the 30 30 has killed a lot of moose.  Good luck on your hunt.  Moose hunting really is kinda magical.

Thanks guys, hope there's one left for me? I know 12 were drawn for my late season, not sure how many in early. My cousin drove up today & said he saw nothing from his truck? Not my style of hunting.
I find tracks and move silent like a cat! I pray I get a moose, feeling my confidence slip into my gut!
But I have 10 days of help after that I'll be solo, I'm used to it.
My brother lives 30 miles to Blanchard so ill have him. If I'm left by my family to return to work.
I never give up. If there's one ill geterdone. Glad I'm retired.
If I do you'll hear me all the way to Spokane, Lol

Seen a lot more animals moving today due to cooler weather. We were up in the snow this afternoon actually.

Southpole, thanks for the update, glad there's a moose for me! I was worried, there must be a lot of them? I've heard they travel from the north(Canada), east idaho to this and other units. I thought they have a 2 mile area. Cows less?
