Cowlitz water level

River has been lowered well below 2400cfs. Anybody know what be going on?

I have never seen it below 2400, which I thought was minimum.

I have never seen it below 2400, which I thought was minimum.
You'll see it in the teens later in the summer I bet.  2200 right now.

I believe this is suppose to happen so they could finish doing the repairs they started on the barrier dam last year.  They could not finish it because the rains started earlier.  They amount of snow and rain we got this year was a lot, they are supposed to have this done before the end of summer.  Not sue when they are going to finish it this year.

Last time I recall it hitting the teens was decades back for a body search.

It won't hit the teens. It will stay pretty close to where it's at. It's lowered so they can set the super sacks to divert the flows to finish the barrier dam rebuild. That was always planned as a 2 season job because of limited amount of time for in water work because of fish. I don't remember for sure but believe they will be done sometime in September.

Another load of 151 recycled steelhead went to I5 today.
That's 302 this week.

Thank you for that info. I enjoy fishing it below 3500 and this year has been so high that the sled is getting flat spots on the trailer tires. We'll remedy that in the morning.
