« on: May 16, 2009, 11:03:30 PM »
What ring/base combo's are you guys running that you like? I'm useing talley one piece LW's on most of my rifles, thier strong and light.
Nobody localy sells talleys so I've been ordering them when I need a set. It would be nice to fing rings that I like and could buy localy.
Heres a pic of the new rem 700 CDL/257wby that I need to get rings for so I can mount the 3.5x10 leupold on it.

I use Warne bases and rings. Have had good luck with them. Plus they are close to us. They are in Oregon.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

I use Weaver or B-Square one piece bases and QD rings as I like to hunt with low power scopes and switch out to a higher one for load development.  I like the one piece bases because I can re cut cross slots to fit any scope.  I also have separate scopes for different loads and switch out scopes for different game or terrain.  I do have a set of Deadnutz one piece rings and bases on one rifle and like them alot.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Talleys are my favorites. I was hoping you guys would know of something better/locally. I prefer to buy local when I can. I'll just order some talley LW's. I have to send the scope to Leupold for turrets anyhow so I got time to wait for some rings to get here.

Jackalope

Check out the base on this rifle.   There are cross slots in the the base to keep the rings from sliding on the base during recoil.  This scope was too short for the existing slots and I cut a new one farther forward so I could mount the scope far enough forward for me..

I've tried a lot of them and pretty much just stick with the Leupold standards.  They stay tight even on non braked magnums, and you can find them just about any place.

G.R.K.
I'm kind of torn on this one. I'm not a fan of wood stocks but this one looks pretty nice.
I might run the wood as is until its scratched up then order a McSwirly.
