UTV opinions, recommendations, experiences
« on: August 07, 2022, 04:53:53 PM »
Looking to get my wife a UTV, not a sport sxs just a utility one, 2 person, dump bed or non. Seems to be a range of price between what is avail and seeing if the lower cost ones are worth it or i just bite the bullet and buy one from Kubota that will last forever?
Note: she has a quad but it’s not the best for her.
Don’t want a golf cart or an electric whatever.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Dont buy chinese.  Of course that includes CFMOTO.    Kubota last forever?  New one to me.  Hmm.  Price point, reliability, warranty, utility 2 seat....  Teryx 800.  3yr factory warranty and you wont use it.  imop.

I’ve got a ranger and really like it but for utility use the mules  are built stout. You can get one of the smaller models (sx) for a pretty good price and they are great little work rigs
Go hawks

Kei truck? If she's not hauling or pulling much, might be a great option for her. Search CL, there's a few places around that have a few.

We bought a new Polaris ranger last year. It’s been extremely handy to have around the house. Wife can load 1,000 lbs into dump bed and dump it herself with the assist on it. We’ve been very pleased with it.

You said a dump bed doesn't matter, so this tells me it's not for work...but then you mention Kubota, which is for work   :chuckle:

What will be its intended use and area?  Are you going to trailer it to the mountains for group rides?  or is this for hauling a haybale out to the back 40 for horse or two?

Bought a Kioti K9 2400 diesel this year. Look them up, they are reliable and workhorses. They aren’t speed demons, but they are reliable and simple machines.  Fairly economical and parts are readily available.

I walked into an estate sale Friday morning, and right away saw a 2015 Kawasaki Mule long tilt bed, with 81 hours on it, in pristine condition, and bunch of accessories, listed for $4k, what a steal :yike:
I walked up to the sales rep. And said I will take it.
She said was the first person who showed up at 8:00 am already bought it. I was 45 minutes late.  :bash:

My folks have had a bobcat UTV with a dump bed for a small property in eastern wa for about twenty years now. He bought it so I could drive him out to our duck blind and took it with him when he moved. Things been worth it's weight in gold for the minimal maintenance and zero breakdowns. I don't know about other brands and features and whatnot but I've always been impressed with his.

Honda pioneer 500 or 1000 would be my first and only choice for what you describe.  The 500 is narrow enough to be legal on Idaho trails.....less than 50" wide.  Direct drive with no belts, reliable honda engines, and overall pretty amazing machines.

I own a 2016 pioneer 1000-5 and absolutely love the machine for what I use it for.  It is a workhorse.  My next purchase will be another honda quad or honda pioneer 500 SxS.....leaning toward the SxS.
