38 / 357 is real easy to reload.
Follow the receipe in the reloading book of your choice. Don't think it is a good idea to trust anyone as to the "perfect load".

Twice now I have tried it, and both times got very lucky. One time action seized (ruger rifle, .270 Win. guy who was picking the load should have known better and gave me a .270 weatherby load...

load for a .44 special to try. Primer poper. Both guys are reliable and should have known better.
Personally I like shooting lead loads in the .38; because it is cheaper.
An enjoyable .38/357 would be either a Ruger Blackhawk (single action) or S&W 27 (double action). Personal favorite is a S&W 66 / 19 size, but I have real small hands.
