Pub land baiting

I spread a few different things out over about 400 yards in a big loop on hill I’ll be watching.  I’ll be sitting on that all day tomorrow.  If there is any increase in animals I’ll call that a win.

Yup good luck east side bro.
My strategy is more to bait them before season.
Let the feeder go dry and wait for them to come back looking for more.

Feed them too much in this warm super nice weather we are having. The'll bed up for the day chewing there cud.
Then come rob you blind at night.
Never to be seen.

Haven't found too many bears interested in bales of alfalfa 

And I haven’t found any deer interested in alfalfa either. At least not the deer in my area. They will eat con and to some degree apples but again. The bears…

Well it half worked.  Got there about 5:30.  Grunted once about 7:30 and 7:45 I heard something big 25 yards below be I couldn’t see.  He circles around me and I get a look at him as he comes around.  Nice 3 point facing away.  I got my cross hairs on him.  He looks back at me from 35 yrds and trots into the trees.  He wasn’t too spooked and never full on ran but he saw me.  I feel good about being able to catch him later.  Should I back out and wait till tomorrow or just sit

WHitetail muledeer ?  Not knowing what unit youre in, if theres a late season, Id keep watching and waiting to see if at some point a mature buck passes through.

Had multiple does feeding on my alfalfa all day long this weekend. I do know that alfalfa is better later in the year too.

Likely a waist of time and money.   It takes time for animals to find and use bait regularly.   Could you get an animal to stop and eat it yes….are you gonna bring in animals that would otherwise had not already been there…no.   

Just my two cents.

completely disagree with this.. some of the biggest bucks and daylight activity I use to get every year up north was the first 24 hours. It was so much and common with many of my buddies bowhunting this unit that we just hung stands and dump bait and sit immediately then move to another stand and do it again
