BUT I do think big Ol campers should be a concern on any truck as they r getting ridiculous in weights.
HSS generally means Hollow Structural Shape. Frames are welded at the factory without stress relieving, so welding by itself doesn’t cause a weakness. The weldment can result in a stress accumulator. Heavy trucks with frames marked “do not weld” are another matter.
