Reloading dies
« on: May 22, 2009, 08:07:30 PM »
I hit the bonanza on reloading supplies and got magnum primers, powder (IMR 7828 and Accurate 3100) and Nosler 180 Gr. P.PT. bullets from my gun store.  I went there just to buy some 300 Weatherby cartridges which he has plenty of,  but noticed all the reload shelves were restocked.  Apparently they just got a shipment.

Anyway, I don't have the dies for the 300 Weatherby cartridge and thought I'd get some RCBS dies from Cabala's.  However, I know there's a problem resizing the belt cartridges and wonder if anyone has tried this die.  It's a Collet resizing die which according to this website will resize the case just above the belt which according to them will get many more reloads.

Scroll to the bottom of page.

Any thoughts.

Thanks

Dave

If the cartridges are only going to be shot in your gun, get a necking die.  That way you are just resizing the neck, and after 3 -5 firings trim for length and start again.

reloadersnest.com is a wealth of knowledge for beginners and experience people alike.  check it out.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Thanks Huntbear for that tip, I'll do that.  I'll still need the resizing die for new brass though if memory serves me right.

Thanks again

Dave
