So proud!
« on: May 26, 2009, 06:04:13 PM »
After work today, I went up to move my blind with the help of my seven year old step-daughter.  Just for kicks, I brought along a box call thinking I could teach her how to use it.  After setting up the blind, I show her how it works.  First attempt didn't sound very good, but that was to be expected.  After some further instruction, she got the hang of it.  After a series of yelps, what should we hear?  GOBBLE Gobble gobble!!!   :yike:  We need to leave...now, since I didn't have my bow with me.  :bash:  We got down the hill and there is a train passing, so we wait.  After it passes, she wants to give it one more try.  Who am I to say no?  She yelps.  Nothing.  Again.  Not one, but TWO gobblers!  We REALLY need to leave since it sounds like they are getting closer.  I may have educated a couple turkey's, but I think it was worth it.

Or maybe you educated yourself to never leave your bow behind???  :chuckle: Cool deal though, that's the best way to learn, and the best way for kids to gain confidence in their calling ability.
